I often take a lot of time to decide what music to listen to while I'm working. When I'm in a hurry this often results in just playing whatever I was playing the day before, or at least something I played quite recent. But I have a library of over 40.000 unique tracks in my Last.fm account, that could be a useful resource I thought.
So I made a simple web app that syncs with my Last.fm library and allows me to generate random suggestions, optionally with some parameters.
The app (sourced from my data) is available, so if you are also unsure what to listen to, maybe get some suggestions based on my history!
Another reason to make the app was to have easy access to my scrobble history in a sensible and quickly accessible data format (the Last.fm API has a terrible XML to JSON conversion). Having this data, and a process to keep it in sync, allows me to expand this project in the future to show graphs, lists or whatever use I can think of.
